Max Wp of module or of individual cells?
Hi everyone!
Since we make our solar panels from individual cells we lose some Wp when only summing the Wp of the individual cells (with the 550Wp tandem restriction) because of the non-perfect transparency of the encapsulation (~5% loss in Wp). The company guiding us in this process does a test on the PV panel after production and can make a data sheet with test results (Wp, efficiency etc.) on module level. In other words, if you would sum the Wp of the individual cells you would overestimate the Wp on module level because of the encapsulation process.
Hence our question, is the Wp on module level < 550 Wp OK if there is a data sheet with flash test measurements?
Happy 2018!

Re: Max Wp of module or of individual cells?
Hello,
We are interested by the total power of the panels, not the individual cells.
Power of commercial solar panels, will be checked considering the label glued on the back face, the datasheet when available, and will be cross checked by an estimation based on the number of cells.
For custom made panels, a flash test report is perfect.
Best regards,
Olivier
