Re: Race camping trailer

Hi,
thanks for the flowers.
The solarpanels will be on the roof 400Wp and 50Wp on the top. So the main best direction is sun from the backside. I know that the panel vertical is better than in an angle like I have it now. But the aerodynamic is giving me this form so it is a trade off between optimal direction to the sun of the solar panels and best aerodynamic.
Best regards Juergen

Re: Race camping trailer
Hi,
I made Test by going down a Mountain no human force. The Trike only was at the reference track 52km/h max. Trike with trailer nothing in (16 bis 18kg trailer) was 47km/h. So the hind in the average speed by trailer should not be more then 1 to 2 km/h compared with a tent solution. Maybe less because the main riding will be in the range of 30km/h where the aero resistant should be very minor bigger then trike only.
I am very happy with todays first test ride...
Best regards Juergen

Hi Jurgen,
Nice ! I've always been fan of the wa-wa camping trailer. It could be an inspiration to solve the conflict between panel angle and aerodynamic.

Re: Race camping trailer
But the panel angle is wrong. I will have this to north when I am going south. And Canton is in the south...

This small caravan 1.60 m wide and 3.30 m long has 2 small wheels (300x8) and a huge lift roof that give it a height of only 1.84 m.
The isorel construction riveted to a welded steel tube frame allows a featherweight of 260 kg allowing traction by any small car, such as the Renault 4.
